The Belgian Striker Lukaku held a meeting with Chelsea leadership on Monday, The Striker is expected to be included in the Team squad for Tottenham on Wednesday in the Carabao Cup.
Lukaku had been omitted on Sunday against Liverpool after his controversial, unsanctioned interview with Sky Sport Italia cast doubt on his future at Stamford Bridge.
There is little chance of him departing the club anytime soon after joining Chelsea in the past summer, as he won’t push for a move.
Conversations between Romelu Lukaku and club leadership, including director Marina Granovskaia, occured on Monday.
Romelu Lukaku displayed remorse in the meeting, with additional details to be disclosed on Tuesday afternoon in Chelsea boss upcoming press conference.
The team hasn’t made a final decision on his status for the Tottenham game, but Lukaku’s expected to be included.
The Belgian International granted an unsanctioned interview to Sky Sport Italia several weeks ago that was publicized this past Thursday and In it, he critisised tuchel’s tactics and indicated he wanted to go back to Inter Milan.
“I’m not happy with the situation and that’s only natural,” Lukaku said. “The head coach has decided to play a different system and I mustn’t let up, I need to keep working hard and be professional.
“I’m not happy with the situation but I’m a grafter and I mustn’t let up.”
Chelsea Boss was disappointed with the interview, which he felt blindsided by, and dropped Romelu Lukaku from his squad over the weekend. Chelsea drew 2-2 with Liverpool.
Athough, it seems the relationship between Lukaku and the Team has been at least partially fixed in the short-term.
